Artline Stix Brush Markers Review

INTRODUCTION

One of the questions I get asked frequently is how did I start learning calligraphy? If you have been inspired by posts on instagram or Pinterest to start learning brush calligraphy then these brush pens are a great investment.

OVERVIEW

Don’t judge their unassuming design, these brush pens have a hard brush tip which is perfect for beginners. The thick hard tip allows you to press quite hard to get the thick broad downstrokes and its very easy to control the finer upstrokes. Now for the swatches!

SOME NEGATIVES…

I personally don’t like the body of the pen as the bumps can make it hard to hold for long periods of time. Overtime the brush tip can fray which makes it harder to control upstrokes, but if you use the right type of paper you can prolong the life of these pens. Furthermore due to the large brush tip, the calligraphy you produce with this pen will be quite large, however if you are beginner, starting with larger calligraphy makes it easier to refine your skills.

FINAL VERDICT

These are some of the most affordable brush pens on the market and come in a wide range of colour. If this is your first outing with calligraphy and you are looking for easy to use and affordable pens then these pens are a great start

Overall I would give these pens a 4 out of 5!
